Lucy I & Lucy II
We love Lucy! For Bloom’s latest Designer Nail Polish Collection, we collaborated with cult blogger and interior stylist, Lucy Feagins from the renowned Australian blog The Design Files, to create cult classic Nail Polish shades.
Since launching in 2008, Lucy’s blog has quickly become a leading source for all things design related. In fact, recently The Times (UK) ranked The Design Files as number 34 in their list of the world's top 50 design blogs. Her word and taste is simply gospel these days!
Having interviewed Natalie Bloom for The Design Files last year, I was so flattered (and surprised!) to be asked to collaborate with Bloom! The Design Files 'Duo' is the perfect pair of nail colours - a demure flesh-toned ballerina pink for daytime, and a glossy, very deep red - for after hours. I was inspired by the idea of capturing the 'double life' so many ambitious young women have. Every creative girl I meet seems to balance a day-job with a project she is passionate about! Whether you're a performer waiting for your big break, a designer plugging away at your craft, or a budding writer – Lucy I carries you through the day, and I hope Lucy II will capture your passion!

There’s nothing like a new year as motivation to try something new. In fact, recently we headed to the street to shoot some daring new looks for our nail polish range. Forget your stock standard mani, this shoot was all about shaking things up and experimenting with upbeat hues, bold graphic patterns and statement-making colour combinations. Check em out!

Polish Up Your Act! A Guide to the Perfect Mani.
Creating a salon-perfect manicure at home is a cinch with our foolproof guide:
File: Remove old nail polish and file nails to a uniform length and shape. Just remember – to avoid weakening the nail, only file in one direction.
Push: Tidy up your cuticles by massaging in Cuticle Quencher and gently pushing them back with an orange stick.
Prime: Apply Base Coat and let it dry for 30 seconds. This will act as an adhesive for the polish and improve its wear.
Polish: Apply nail polish in three strokes – one up the centre and one either side. To prevent chipping, begin at the base of your nail and bring the brush over and under the tip of your nails. Wait a few minutes before applying a second coat.
Finish: For added shine and protection, apply a Top Coat. To further extend the life of your manicure, re-apply every second day.
